Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is similar to thoracoscopy except that the abdominal cavity, rather than the chest wall cavity, is being inspected. Typically three small incisions are made, two for cameras and one for a tube that pumps air into the abdominal cavity to lift the abdominal wall away from the abdominal organs, allowing the cameras to see more clearly. Like thoracoscopy, usually recovery is swift and complications minimal.
