NEWPORT NEWS – Dutrow Elementary School has been closed after inspectors found elevated amounts of asbestos in ceiling tiles during the installation of a new heating and airing system late Tuesday. According to the district, the school will remain closed until mid-July.

Utah Woman Wins the Largest Asbestos Compensation

A Utah woman who is suffering from malignant mesothelioma has been awarded $5.2 million in damages by a Salt Lake City jury.
The jury found that three companies, Georgia-Pacific LLP, Hamilton Materials, Inc. and Union Carbide, are responsible for Vickie Warren’s disease.
The judgment is said to be the largest asbestos-related award in the history of Utah.
