Stanley County School District to Remove Asbestos

The Stanley County School District, Fort Pierre, is planning to clean up the final remaining asbestos from its campus this summer.
The cancer-causing substance was discovered in the ceiling coating in part of the district’s elementary building. The material will be replaced with Sheetrock by July 15, officials said.

The Council Rock School District has settled the case with the EPA concerning federal violations of asbestos safety regulations at two Holland area schools.
The EPA had cited Council Rock South High School, 2002 Rock Way, Holland, PA, and Rolling Hills Elementary School, 340 Middle Holland Road, Holland, PA, for violating asbestos regulations.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) fined a Northampton landlord $6,000 for illegal removal of asbestos.

WARRENSBURG – The State Department of Labor asked people to avoid the site close to Potter’s Diner where a motel was demolished. According to state officials, asbestos at the site was removed improperly.
