An old commercial building owner in downtown Kitchener was fined a total of $87,500 for putting workers at risk of asbestos exposure during the renovation of his building.

Company will pay for asbestos mine cleanup

NEWARK, NJ (AP) G-I Holdings, a company that operated a 1,600-acre asbestos mine in Vermont, will pay to clean up that site. The company has agreed to pay also for nine other sites where toxic substances were disposed of. G-I Holdings has to pay a total of around $300 million.
